For over twenty-five years she has provided psychology services to a broad spectrum of the San Diego community. Her services include psychotherapy and mental health education for adults, adolescents, couples and families, addressing a variety problems and disorders. Dr. Houston is also an Executive Coach certified in several workplace assessment instruments. She provides executive coaching and leadership training to executives and managers, for both private and public sector organizations. She is currently Adjunct Faculty at Center for Creative Leadership (CCL San Diego Campus), a leading international educational institution dedicated exclusively to providing leadership training and executive coaching. CCL integrates cutting-edge research on leadership education with innovative training and personal/professional assessment and development, with campuses in the U.S., Brussels and Singapore.
Dr. Houston is also currently Western Region Testing Psychologist with the NFL's Evaluation and Referral Management Inc. (ERM). In this role she provides comprehensive psychological evaluations of football players on six professional teams in the West, as part of the NFL's Substance Abuse Program. Dr. Houston is also currently Associate Clinical Graduate Faculty in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University, formerly United States International University (USIU) and California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). She taught several graduate courses at each university before the merger and continues to teach graduate psychology students. For more than twenty-five years Dr. Houston has mentored many graduate students who have entered the profession and practice of Clinical Psychology.Dr. Houston is an active member of San Diego Psychological Association where she currently serves on the Ethics Committee. She is also member of California Psychological Association and past president of the National Association of Black Psychologists, San Diego Chapter. Dr. Houston is former trustee of the San Diego Museum of Art and currently serves as Board Member of San Diego Delta Foundation, a civic organization that promotes life skills and develops leadership in community youth, preparing them for college and success.
